Q: Who are Murray and Carl, anyway?
A: Murray and Carl are real-life Corgis living in Northwest Pennsylvania. In the books, they are brave explorers. In real life, they are professional nappers who specialize in "splooting" and tripping me in the kitchen.
Q: What age group are these books for?
A: These stories are perfect for "little recruits" aged 3 to 8. They have enough rhythm and humor to keep toddlers giggling, but enough "big kid" adventure and heart for early elementary readers.
Q: Is there a "Board of Directors" I should know about?
A: Absolutely. While Murray and Carl are the stars in this series, the household is actually run by a high-level committee of five Chihuahuas: Trixie, Cooper, Winston, Neumann, and Jerry. They don't have their own book series yet, but they’ve already filed the paperwork.

Q: You were a Marine and a musician—does that mean the books are loud?
A: Only if you read them that way! My background in the Corps means these stories value loyalty and "leaving no dog behind." My life as a musician means the stories have a specific "beat"—they’re designed to be a fun, rhythmic performance for whoever is stuck with bedtime duty.
Q: Why a pen name?
A: Every great operative needs a code name. Using a pen name allows me to keep my "Seasoned Ops" professional life organized while letting my inner storyteller run wild with the dogs.

A: You can find the entire series on Amazon. If you’re a local in Northwest PA, keep an eye out at our favorite neighborhood bookstores! I’ll post updates on our "Local Adventures" page whenever we’re on the shelves.

A: I’m working on a "Tactical Bookplate" program! Sign up for our newsletter (Sploot & Scuttle) to be the first to know when I’m doing a local signing or sending out signed stickers.
